Cypress Creek Renewables Acquiring FLS Energy

Cypress Creek Renewables has signed an agreement to acquire Asheville, N.C.-based solar developer FLS Energy. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Cypress Creek says the move comes at a time of significant growth for the company and represents the next step in its ongoing efforts to provide renewable energy to as many communities as possible throughout the country. Following the acquisition, Cypress Creek says the combined company will continue to be a force for job creation and economic development in North Carolina and throughout the Southeast.

“When we founded FLS Energy, we felt a great responsibility to our employees as well as to our community. Our business was more than just about making money; it was about making the world a better place to pass down to our children. By joining with Cypress Creek, what started as a simple idea among three friends, will now reach a scale that can truly change the world,” comments FLS Energy CEO Dale Freudenberger.

FLS Energy started as a residential solar construction company more than 10 years ago and, in that time, evolved into one of North Carolina’s leading engineering, procurement and construction firms. FLS has an operating portfolio of 350 MW and a near-term pipeline of over 600 MW of solar projects.
